@rocknrollman1234 The carrera gt was a limited production car, which means they were only going to make it once… They aren’t replacing anything they are simply making a totally new model. To replace something would mean that they would have to still be making the carrera gt, but they only made 11xx in one single run and that was it. Also I am very impressed by the new body and chassi BUT hybrid technology is a joke. If they really wanted an amazing car they would have used turbine technolo

meh lamborghinis always look the same, i like that porsche.
March 13th, 2010 at 7:31 PM
LOL. I see.
March 13th, 2010 at 8:18 PM
Meh, my car is a hybrid, it has electric start. :p
March 13th, 2010 at 8:55 PM
It actually has around 700 horsepower with the electric motors. The top speed is just slightly less. I heard that it will cost nearly as much as the carrera gt as well. It sounds like replacing it to me.

Ya, doesn’t make sense that they would replace the CGT with this. For one thing, it has alot less HP than the CGT. I would imagine the top speed is less too.
March 13th, 2010 at 9:11 PM
@andy993 I don’t think they are going to replace the Carrera GT rather this is just their next super car.
March 13th, 2010 at 9:35 PM
@ProximitySymbol except the GT1 which already did… 10 years ago
March 13th, 2010 at 10:13 PM
Nothing will outdo the CGT
March 13th, 2010 at 10:14 PM

March 13th, 2010 at 10:55 PM
lambos are all the same they need to have diversity plus german cars are some of the best built and fastest cars anywhere…on the track.

March 13th, 2010 at 11:37 PM
say hi to your mom..she was Great last night.
March 14th, 2010 at 12:09 AM
@idrinorbarsaku I hope so too.
March 14th, 2010 at 12:23 AM
They way I see it, VW put them back in their placethe place where they properly focus on building great cars. I believe we will be seeing even more cars that look this good from Porsche.
March 14th, 2010 at 12:26 AM
@idrinorbarsaku Ya, especially the back end and the interior. Porsche is starting to get their swagger back. They seem to have lost it since the late 90’s when they overhauled their production methods to more be more cost effective.

electric cars already ARE faster then petrol cars. Just look up electric drag racing for example…they easily outperform “really fast” pertrol cars!
March 14th, 2010 at 1:44 AM
They say it’s not a replacement for the GT, but there sure have added some similar cues from the Carrera GT on here, that’s for sure! Either way, if this isn’t the GT, good god, how good is the GT going to look!?!?!
March 14th, 2010 at 2:30 AM
Is this the future Carrera GT replacement?
March 14th, 2010 at 2:45 AM
I spent all night dancing in my apartment with my roommate Nicki, so much fun!
March 14th, 2010 at 3:02 AM
@rezamesmarian yeah and weve been modifying gas cars for ages, wonder what can we do if we modified electric cars for ages
March 14th, 2010 at 3:02 AM
You ever think that an electric car will outperform gas vehicles? I think electric cars have a ton of potential and will one day be faster than today’s gas race cars.
March 14th, 2010 at 3:18 AM
Haha for extra car theft security, take the steering wheel with you!
March 14th, 2010 at 3:23 AM
not much different then the one those useless ying yang twins had in their stupid video.

Whether porsche buyers care or not about the environment or not is not the issue. Billions of people are driving around 24hrs a day 365 days a year. Manufacturers of any kind of car should be looking for ways to conserve energy and build cars using less resources with recyclable materials. It’s still a bit of a joke that this car even with electric motors is using a 500hp V8. I like speed as much as the next guy, but at some point we must reflect at what cost these fleeting stimulations come.
